It had all started as a simple first grade project that was for fun, but freshman Isabel Rosas decided to take this simple fun project and make it her own.
DIYs have become the new trend for 2016. From bath bombs to makeup, and more, DIYs are becoming bigger, and bigger by the weeks. People find all kinds of creative ways to turn little things into something more. Like a cheese grater, for example, becoming something you could hang keys on. Now DIY slime has surfaced on the web, and with Halloween coming, people are turning to a local student who is starting to become a master at the task.
“ I remember doing it as a project in the first grade, and I didn’t really like my teacher’s recipe so I decided to just make my own version,” Rosas said.

With determination she went home, and whipped up her own recipe taking a chance to create something new. After a couple of tries Rosas found her own recipe to work with that she was proud enough to share. The ingredients are water, shaving cream, and borax. She doesn’t have use exact measurements for her slime for her it all depends on the consistency.
After coming up with her own DIY slime, and working overtime to make her recipe more efficient, Isabel decided to take this DIY another step further, and start to advertise her slime so she can sell to her others.
“ It’s all pre-order,“ she said. “The ingredients aren’t all that cheap.”
The pricing is pretty simple too. Rosas sells a small container for about $4, and then if you want to request a bigger size then the cost will depend on how large the size is.
The slime can also come in all colors plus scented or not, and if you want your slime to be more sticky or fluffy you can request that too.
For Rosas she says she finds joy in making her slime it’s a fun project, and she can use her new talent into making money while being able to do something she loves.
“It’s nice” she said, “A simple thing I could do to bring joy to others while doing something fun, and cool.”
