The athletic boosters will host their annual Sausage Dinner on Thursday Sept. 22. This event will take place in the cafeteria from 5 to 9 p.m. This is allows the athletics program to raise money to replace the old equipment to new equipment. All athletic coaches will be serving the plates and tickets will also be sold at the door.
“Come out on the 22nd. It’s a great event and it is fun not only seeing the coaches serving, but seeing the football players,’” Coach Rheinberger said. “There will be a football game so come out and support.”
Each plate costs $7, and includes sausage, potato salad, beans, bread, and tea . Every athlete tries to sell 5 tickets each and if they hit 5 they make a new goal trying to sell 10. The sport that sells the most is football because they have about 200 players.
“ I think the food is really good and all the football players and coaches are really nice and fun to be around,” tennis player Angelique Torres said. “It is definitely worth the $7.”
The boosters have hosted this dinner for over 40 years, in which the coaches serve the food.
“ Maximize your opportunity in every opportunity you take,” Cross country and track Coach Bedell said.
