The Reason Why Teens Feel Like It’s the End of the World
Growing up is sometimes a hard and tedious thing to do. Being a teenager often feels like the most difficult phase that everyone is forced to go through. They are hit by so much that, at times, it can make them feel like it is the end of the world.
“I think that teens feel like it’s the end of the world. I don’t think it’s necessary but it’s a commonality, because we have to deal with school, parents, and creating a future for ourselves,” Matthew Hayden, senior, said.
Teens can feel the pressures that make their world crumble. They can come from every direction, arise in any situation, and happen everywhere. High school is often a major candidate for ending the worlds of the youth. It can feel like a restricted dead zone that students fall into when they least expect it.
“Sometimes I feel like the world is ending when I forget to do homework and I start to worry about my grade,” Steven Smith, sophomore, said.
Teens not only feel pressure from their school environment but also from their parents. Though they are trying to push their child in the right direction, parents sometimes push too hard without realizing it. At times they can bombard teens with so many expectations that the world begins to rumble and the ground cracks beneath their feet.
“Sometimes my parents push me to do good in school. I know they mean well, but sometimes it can be too much,” Joshua Friggy, freshman, said.
Best friends and significant others are the only escape teens get to relax and have fun. They often help when teens are trying to catch the world between their fingers, but sometimes they can cause the pieces to fall. Sometimes when friends fight or significant others seem unbearable, teenagers often have major fall outs that end in people getting hurt.
“Sometimes it feels like the end of the world when me and my boyfriend fight but we always make up so that makes me happy,” Jasmine Vilramontez, sophomore, said.
Though teens often feel the pressures of life beating down on them, there are also teens that have found a way to pick up their world and piece it back together.
“I find that when I just put everything down and relax, things seem to get better,” Richard Lalone, junior, said.
A teenager has a lot to take on as they go through life. They have to watch out for themselves and the ones they care for. At times the world does end but there is always hope that no matter how small the pieces are, they will always fit back together where they belong.
