This upcoming semester our Rough Riders are getting back on the saddle, and riding into a new nine weeks.
Some students may need to show improvement, and consistency in their work while others may be well off, and just need to keep working the way they have been. After the wave of exams are over this week, students get the weekend to brace themselves on what is in store for the next week.
With this new start up, what are students planning to do to ensure that they start off the year strong, and keep it up throughout the rest of the semester? Many students may have resolutions on their brain on what they want to do to get their grades up, and be on top of their classes.
“I am going to make more time for school, and study,” Susana Campos, sophomore, said.
For most students, studying is the main way to get better by reviewing what they already know, and then trying to learn other things on top of that. Yet some students may need to make it a personal goal to get their mind set on their studies.
“I am going to focus on school more, and study ,” Alyssa Lundgren, sophomore, said. Although students make up the majority of the schools population, the staff are making it a major priority, as well, to make sure our students get the learning that they need.
From teachers , to the Assistant Principals , to our Principal, they are getting themselves ready to take on the challenge of brining students an education.
“Next semester, the push of educational awareness will be going on. In order to be successful, you must go above and beyond, not just to get by,” Richard Canales, Principal, said.
One way students can stay on top of their assignments this new nine weeks is to join study groups. This is a good way to check your work, and to ensure that you understand everything that is happening in a specific class. Going to tutoring is the best way to double check if you are doing your work right .
Keeping up with what you want for this new semester is half the battle, the other half is acting on it. Students must focus on their goals to continue on their ride to success.
