Pens and pencils have a long history when it comes to being used as writing utensils. Often, we are stuck picking between a pen or pencil, and sometimes we just can’t pick.
Of course, sometimes it is required to use a certain utensil for important purposes, but when it is not mandated, we should in fact use pencils.

Before erasers came around, writers used bread crumbs to erase their mistakes. Today, with the simple eraser of our pencil, we are able to erase everything that we want, as long as we’ve used a pencil to write it.
Unlike pencils, pens can’t simply erase. Yes, there are erasable pens, but these tend to leave marks and sometimes even dents which make the place where we’ve written look messy. The rest of pens that can’t erase, simply can’t erase.
A second reason to pick pencils over pens is for a pencil’s multi-use ability. Pencils can be used for more than one purpose. We don’t just use them in school, but also at our job places and for other things like drawing or sketching. These offer us the ability to make as many mistakes in our artwork and like magic, an eraser can blow our mistakes away.
In reality, there is no limit to what we can use pencils for. Believe it or not, pencils can also be used in space and underwater. Its zero gravity gives us the ability to use them practically anywhere.
Pencils also tend to be healthier for the environment. They require much less energy to be made. Pens are made out of plastic and are rarely recycled. This make pens harmful to nature and a waste a plastic that could be used for other things we need or lack.
Yes, pens are necessary for things like our signature. Pens help us make permanent marks when we need them. These offer us the same love that pencils do but with a few consequences.
So why go through the trouble of spending more money on a pen?, when you could save money, a mess, frustration and help the environment by buying a pencil instead.
