The Pali Sandal, the Birkenstock, the strappy sandal, the “Jesus sandal.” Call them what you will, but they remain a trend in the hallways.
This type of sandals is not only for females, but its a unisex trend so it is also for males. These sandals got popularity on social media, because teenagers have started videos and posted pictures of them. But the sandals themselves are as old as time. Birkenstocks date back to the 1700s. Pali released in 1980.
Students all over the world are bring back old trends of many types of things.
“Teens right now are just doing more the trending things, the shoes are just one of the few trends students try and follow, they call it the ‘IT’ thing right now” fashion teacher Karol Rademaker said.
Whether to be trend followers or just for comfort, they remain popular even as seasons change.
“I wear these type of sandals just because I feel that I have more grip than regular beach sandals,” junior Autumn Everett said. “These are way more comfortable when you just wanna have a lazy day, they kind of remind me of the slides that the boys wear here at school.”
