Art hits the walls as a scene emerges from the art hallways in AS. Upper-level art students, along with Art Club and NAHS, are enjoying the opportunity to leave their permanent mark in the form of a giant mural with different figures in front of a giant rainbow on the back walls of AS.
“I think it looks great,” senior art student Shelby Spoon said. “I really wanted to make an impact on the school and the art hallway.”
Spoon and her classmates are very proud for being a part of the project, knowing that everyone will see and appreciate their work as they walk down the halls.
“It makes people happy when they walk by and see what an amazing job the students in many art classes created,” Art Teacher Ms. Smith said.

The figures on the wall by ROTC depict actual students and Smith herself, many of which were painted last year. The last four years, students came up with the idea of the murals that are on the art wall and now they are finally strung together with a giant rainbow which the students created at a late-night painting party May 15. The students painstakingly worked until 9 p.m. on their masterpiece.
“The murals were the students’ ending but this year’s beginning to a whole new work of art. The art hallway is a part of TR history and may be a possibility that more work will continue to be painted on the wall,” art teacher Ms. Ferris said.
The upper-level art classes are working to put finishing touches on the murals this week.
